Looking for some oval setups - Oli - 11-10-2006 Hi folks! I've just started to drive a full 1998 FedEx Season... Hmmm, sounds good... But you know what I am missing? I need good setups for the "new" Homestead track (the 1.510 mile version - not the small "Indy" version). I am not fast enough... Also I need a good thing for Motegi (the N2/N3 Darlington edit). I always spin although I have increased the rear wings... For both setups I would have to play around with the suspension. But I am just a driver... Not a mechanic... Can somebody help me? Thanks in advance RE: Looking for some oval setups - scubasteve85 - 11-10-2006 To add to this as well. I remember a pdf file that I think Steven Lake posted at the old forum that had a lot of good info about ICR2 and probably setups too and if anyone has a good quick setup guide like lists adjustments to make for a car that is loose going into corners or exiting and such like that. Thanks RE: Looking for some oval setups - champs - 11-10-2006 >I need good setups for the "new" Homestead track (the 1.510 mile version - not the small "Indy" version). I am not fast enough... When you say, 'not fast enough', how fast is that? c` RE: Looking for some oval setups - Wolf_pd - 11-10-2006 New as in low banked or high banked? RE: Looking for some oval setups - Oli - 11-10-2006 Hi! Uhhh... I think I got the low banked homestead. But I am not sure... Anyway, my speeds were all much less than 200 mph. The real qualifying speed in 1998 was 217.5 mph by Greg Moore. So I guess that the racing laps have been around 200 mph. I am really far, far away from these speeds. And my rear is loose (although I drive with more rear wing than front wing) which results in lots of spins. I have changed already the setup and I tried to make the car more stable. Yesterday, I just was playing around with the tire values in the track text file. Just to avoid the right front tire overheating... I have also included in the zip file my track file for the Miami track with the correct tire values. As far as the Darlington/Motegi........I have a hard time at that track too. You can run a few laps OK, and then the car will just go into a snap spin without any warning. RE: Looking for some oval setups - Wolf_pd - 11-11-2006 1998 season, I should have seen that. The flat one it is. |
