Milwaukee Mile

Hi all!
I wasn't happy with any version of Milwaukee mile for ICR2 for a long time. All conversion from n2/n3 didn't pleased me. Because n2 Milwaukee represent track after repaving in 1996. So I was thinking about making my version of the track for a long time.

First I took n3 track and changed banking transaition and made it smoother. Then I scale track to be 1.032 miles in length.
Milwaukee oval was always listed as 1 mile oval. But in 1997 track was remesured like many othe tracks in CART schedule. New correct length was found - 1.032 miles.
Next step was graphic adjustments. I used all objects from n2/n3 track. Also I made realistic cameras views.

Result of that work is Milwaukee 1996-2002 (mlwauk98)

After this I decided to make pre 1996 Milwaukee version. I removed curbs in turns and changed pitexit road to be more like on old track. But tere was one charecter that I couldn't simulate. It was bumps and old surface which slow down the cars. But I decided just reduce tire grip at this track. So I adjusted tire parameters to perform well with lower grip. Also made asphalt looks bit older. And also I placed dark asphalt patches. I placed them according what I saw in 1995 Milwaukee Indycar race. I think all patches are 95% accurate Smiley

Because track now is 1.032 miles instead of 1 mile average lap speed is higher. But you can use lap time to compare it with real data.

So result of that work is Milwaukee 198?-1995 (mlwaukee)

.zip   mlwaukee.zip (Size: 1.56 MB / Downloads: 322)

I hope you will enjoy to race on new Milwaukee track. But will try to make night and modern days version of Milwaukee too.

Merry Christmas!

Hi,
While working on other project I nearly finished 2003-present Milwaukee version. I had made new grandstand complex, added fence all around the track and made some other texture tweaks. Track is almost ready except for billboards. It still uses old 90s bills. So maybe someone wish to make this work?

While making this version I use 2008 IRL race video as reference for details. I already made GoDaddy logo on back straight wall. It's possible to make everything as it was in real life. Every billboard use it's own texture. Every wall in turn also has it's own texture. This could be good representation of 2005-2010 Milwaukee track. Because in 2011 all bills were removed from the walls and even track logos. And many billboards were clean too. And in 2012 track walls were paint with blue colors. It also possible to do.

If there are wishes to help me then I will upload my track now. If no then I will try to make everything by myself. I also want to make night Milwaukee for 2003 and 2004 ChampCar races.

I would help you, if my boss gave me time off, so I am sorry.

Is the other project one I send you files for? I do hope so!

I'll help you make the billboard and wall textures, Pavel.

There's plenty of reference material available, so it shouldn't be too hard.

Ok
So here is my unfinished track.

Some notes on wall. There should be group of bills on walls in every turn. Every turn in this track is covered with three long mips:
TURN 1 - wallt1a, wallt1b, wallt1c (bills should be on the left of the wallt1a or on the right of wallt1b)
TURN 2 - wallt2a, wallt2b, wallt2c (bills should be on the left of the wallt2b or on the right of wallt2c)
TURN 3 - wallt3a, wallt3b, wallt3c (bills should be somewhere on wallt2a)
TURN 4 - wallt4a, wallt4b, wallt4c (bills should be on the left of the wallt2b)

Also there are bills on pitwall. Wallpit1...wallpit5 textures are used there.

Thanks for your help! Good luck!

So last year the backstraight was green, courtesy of GoDaddy, and the rest of the walls were blue.

I hope it's not going to be an eye sore in ICR2 Smiley
