Yes, I know, I will take a look on some objects for inspiration and to see, how they are built up, but I want to make my own objects to make the track really unique.

Stunning progress Dennis! What track are you making? A real layout or a fictional layout?

As I wrote in my introduction post, I make my own track. There are many real tracks, made by other people, so I try something different.
Some infos about the track. It's a combination of an oval and a road course (like Indianapolis or Daytona), at first I'm working on the road course, the oval will probably follow. The track layout has a little similarity with Interlagos, the character has also a little similarity with old Imola. But over all it's unique. Track length: 6889m (4,279 miles) Top speed: ~207mph Corners: 23 (between 20 and 33, depending on how we count them) Best lap till now: 2:02,6 (not a fast track, but there is a 23sec long flatout oval part) And the name??? I will let the community decide after I'll finish.

awesome! interlagos and classic imola are favourite tracks of mine! should be epic!
I tried to make objects this week, but I had no success. Now I'm at a point, where I need help.
My first object is difficult, so I decided to rebuild the example grandstand from Pavel's document. It looked good in 3doed, but after I placed it with ope, I couldn't convert the track to ICR2, I've got an error message about wrong format. I tried an object from the original Elkhart Lake track, but it was the same. In my converted .3DO file I can't place objects. There would be 3 possible ways, but I don't know how to 1. make .3D file from a .3DO file 2. open track in ope without a .3D file 3. place new objects in 3doed Has anyone an idea, what's going wrong or what's the solution? |
