Big site update
#1
Today a lot of stuff was added to the Archive, here's what and where:

Watkins Glen 2006:
----------------------
The Indycar Series version of Watkins Glen, with the infamous boot section and some more added detail to the old part of the track as well. I'm happy with how this track has turned out, even though it took its merry time to get done Wink2 Everything is done except the camera files that are still the old ones. You can find it in the Roadcourse secion of The Tracks Archive.

Motegi V2:
------------
As posted on the forum a couple of days ago by Pavel69. To my knowledge the first release of a scratchbuilt ICR2 to result from the Tutorials section being added to this site a couple of months ago. Well done Pavel ! The track itself is a rebuild of the old beta track Motegi I posted that was made by Brett Shannon but now with the correct Motegi layout. It includes the updated .txt file.

Mosport fix:
--------------
Edwrom sent me an update for GPL converted Mosport that fixes the problem of the garage settings returning to default every time the track gets freshly loaded. The track downloads of Mosport and Mosport67 [Tony's updated version] have been fixed.

Stardust .lp files:
-------------------
The replays were made by Kristof Kaly-Kullai and those were turned into .lp files by yours truely. Both the 2k and the 67 Stardust track downloads have been updated with the new files.

Brainerd graphics update:
-----------------------------
As posted on the forum by Tony a little while back. A seperate .rar file with the new files has been uploaded on the Brainerd track download page.

Long Beach 2005 AI Update:
--------------------------------
This is version 0.7 of the AI update for Long Beach 2005, as posted on the forum by Nintendork. I hope another update will surface soon but in the mean while this is an excellent patch already so I have decided to just post it. The track download has been updated with the new AI.

Sounds:
---------
All the different sound file posted by Oli a couple of days ago have been added to the Tools page in The Archive.

Carsets:
---------
- Steven Lake's 2006se CCWS carset;
- Oliver Karaula's Indycar 70's carset;
- Oliver Karaula's Indycar 80's carset;
- Edwin Roman's Lambocup carset as posted here a couple of weeks ago;
All on the carsets page in the Archive of course.

You have been busy, Tjerk. I have been meaning to ask you about Watkins Glen with the boot in our last few rounds of e-mails but didn't do it. I'm glad that the track is out!. I should have something new for you soon! The car shape is done (although I'm still trying to add mirrors to it) so it is a matter now to pain t the cars. BTW, should we continue to post carsets and tracks here at the forum or do you perfer that we send them to you for psting at the site?

Sssshhh Ed, don't spoil the fun and don't say a word about that carset.
I saw a screenshot. Looking very good!

Either way is fine by me, whatever you prefer ! We still have about 1,5 Gb storage to spare on our server so things being posted both on the forum and on the site does not make a lot of difference Wink2 I am already very happy that people are still working on making new things for ICR2 ! I wonder what the new thing is you are working on now... Builder1

I'm not surprised that a copy of the screenshot made your way.

You just made one of my favorite ICR2 tracks even better. Excellent job on the "boot". I like it how now, instead of fighting the car to try to keep it from sliding out on the loop, I can just let it slide nice and easy into the chute. Cool! I like your settings. I'll see how they compare to my WatGlen setup.

I'm glad you like it ! I'm also very happy that I finally finished it Grin3 That corner always used to spin me out too when I was too hard on the gas, so yes, I too like this layout better. The corners in the boot are all a lot of fun. Lap times seem about in the right direction as well.

I did not go about making the new part with exact measurements at all, but it feels very accurate to drive [comparing it with the onboard footage from the '05 race]. I think maybe I overdid the off-camber on the final turn coming back onto the old track, it's probably a bit too slow because of it, but it IS a very demanding corner that way and rewarding when you get it right.

Hello folks

BTW, yesterday I played around with engine sounds for ICR2. I recognized that the sound that posted here are much to high.
Like "forgot his name" said...

For example the 1995 Ford engine that I listened in OnBoard videos were much deeper. So I made a deeper soundfile for ICR2. Now I know that the engine sound for the post95 years were higher.

I'll post all the sound files here soon...
(when I improve it a little bit)
