Site Downtime at end of September 2018

I saw that the site was down for a few days- I got a little nervous. If any of the moderators would like to have me post a mirror of the data so we have a redundant backup, I have a friend with the hardware and knowledge to help. I will also assist in any technical matters I can.

The reason for the downtime was that it seems we had a huge amount of traffic sent to use from a spambot network somewhere in Russia. We are talking about thousands of page requests per minute, which seems to have been an error even on their end But that made the bandwidth go over the monthly amount I have alotted to this site.

I don't visit the website very often anymore and only realized this had happened when Wolf_PD brought the problem to my attention when it happened again in October. I traced the responsible IP-addresses so that I could block their access and everything has been okay since then it seems.

Anyway, there is no need to worry, this site is not in danger of closing down any time soon. Although I do not update it as much as I know I probably should, I realize that it's important to the people who still enjoy ICR2
