Sebring, Firebird + Putnam Park BETA
#1
Hello folks,
Not made any tracks for a while now so had a crack at a basic layout of the famous Sebring International Raceway, and in particular the 1998 version, just before they re-profiled the hairpin exit.

Up to now we have only had a graphics edit of the Bullrun track for a Sebring track.

As with past works of mine the track is for testing only as no AI files, and no objects present. Not totally accurate but gives us an opportunity to finally drive ICR2 cars around this famous track.

Enjoy! :-)

You make me feel so lazy! I need to get to editing tracks. I have a long way to go to reach Pavel status. I have been so busy- I just adopted a new child. She is a 2000 Honda Civic that led a neglected life. I have been nurturing her back to health so she can live a good life with my other 3 children. (not a good excuse but the truth)

Awesome - just downloaded and drove a couple laps - no problems encountered in single car testing. Thanks for building this.

Any chance you might be able to do the short layout (the one that the IndyCar teams usually test at). That layout (and Firebird in Arizona) has always been on my wishlist since they tested there a lot during the '90s.

As requested here's a basic layout of the Sebring 1.7 mile "Johnson Club" circuit as it is known, which Indycar test at.
Pitlane runs adjacent to the track as in real life the pits used for this layout are deep in the infield, which can't be replicated in ICR2.

Also attached is a basic layout of one of the original layouts of Sebring from 1967, a 5 mile high speed blast down the runways!

Enjoy!

p.s. There is a version of the Firebird circuit on this forum here:

Here's BETA versions of some more testing tracks used by CART / Indycar "back in the day".
The Firebird East Course and Putnam Park.

Wow, thanks for building these! Just tested them and can confirm they work. Was always a dream to be able to simulate as much of the Indy Car season as possible in ICR2, including testing at the real test tracks. I like the subtle elevation changes at Putnam - they make for an interesting lap. Looking forward to any future versions!

No, just basic layouts for testing only. One day I'll learn how to add objects :-) AI creation is a total pain in the a55 :-(

I'm working on improving the AI for glenboot now. I know what you mean. I'll do the AI, if you can do the objects.
