Here's today's version of Nashville, now packed into a .dat file. I'm going to consider the graphics done for now, and I'd like to ask for help with the LPs - I have tried playing with them, they work okay for now, but I don't have enough skill to make them better.
Changes since the last version: - Added suites - Added more faraway buildings in downtown - Added another set of traffic lights - Textures on the La Quinta hotel Known bugs: - Game crashes in qualifying (something to do with the AI starting in wrong positions) - Cars ahead may disappear in the chicane and uphill section. I think it has something to do with DYNO and the places with multiple boundaries but I have not been able to find a fix. To do (in future version): - Quality Inn hotel - Peabody building - Jumbotrons - Banner on bridge - Finish line texture (11-03-2021, 04:06 PM)checkpoint10 Wrote: Here's today's version of Nashville, now packed into a .dat file. I will most definitely help with the LPs. I hope to find that your qualifying crash is related to this (so we can fix it). Can I wait a week so we can get more miles on the track? I just want to make sure we have a final track geometry. (hopefully we will get more reports of no chicane crashing in the MBC)

I haven't had any chicane crashing since I paved over the grass in the past week, fingers crossed that fixed it.

@samsepi0l, please hold off again on Nashville LPs. I was trying a higher speed run when I encountered the game breaking bug again, braking into the chicane. Next on my list of things to change - removing one of the extra sections I made when trying to "round off" the wall corners in the chicane.

Sorry if it's annoying that I keep posting updates to Nashville. This one contains my latest attempt to fix the game crashing bug in the braking zone for the chicane. It removes one of the track segments right before the chicane.
No other changes besides a couple of my latest LPs which I made using the new tool discussed in the other thread.

I am so envious of your pursuit of perfection. Your posts are not annoying at all. It's very smart to do so much testing before investing so much time in making the LPs but now we should have the new tool soon, to make the process so much smoother!

It's good to aim for perfection, but just remember that it may not be possible. Surfers' has a spot like that at pit exit, and it's an original track from Papy.

Honestly I'd love to move on from Nashville and just want to make it "good enough." But I think it is important to fix this one, because ultimately the track needs to be fun, and nothing is less fun than a game-ending crash. |
