It's been at least 2 years since I've played ICR2, my overall favorite racing sim, finally have sometime to sit and just race for hours, but of course I've moved on to Windows XP, and I'm having problems. ICR2 loads, but the sound is really, really choppy, and my SideWinder Precision Racing Wheel doesn't function at all. Realize this is probably a really old issue and the answer to this question lost somewhere in some archives, but anyone know if it's possible to "get back on track" in Windows XP? Thanks for all the work behind the dozens of tracks and great carsets that have been generated since I last raced.

Well, here is a utilityI made for icr2 to run in xp. Also attached is a how to setup the wheel.
Here is a web link that might also help with the wheel -

I am also one of the unlucky guys that cannot run Icr2 in WinXP. I can only run it in low res. In hi res the game runs but it is unable to watch since the screen is showed like hundreds of thin horizontal slices. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Sorry, but I haven't mentioned that I have already used the icr2star utility and get those results. Anyway, thanks for your time (I will try to get comfortable with low resolution).

Interesting idea indyracer. I have kept my old hard drive and transfer my old files with an external usb hd-case. I will give it a try.
I just gave it a try, but unfortunately I didn't have any result. The same problem. Maybe I should contact with intel. Maybe it is a card issue or a driver issue. Thanks for your time.

I downloaded the latest divers for my card (82865G chipset) and the problem became worse. Now not only I cannot see the hi res of the game, but it is also running a lot slower in the low res. I think I won't try any more. My only solution is to bring back to life my old pc (with Win 98SE on it).

Your situation is what has kept me from upgrading from my old (not so trusty, anymore) Win98 PC. Since I spend about 50% of my PC time on ICR2 related stuff, I would hate to loose the ability to run the game. I do need a new PC since this one is starting to fail. The fact that I just bought a new Win XP PC for my wife is making it more difficult to live with the old clunker.
