DTM mod

With Jerry (Pontiacfan) releasing the TPTCC bodystyle convert I have seen a base to work on a mod I always wanted to see for ICR2, a DTM mod. For those unaware what DTM is, DTM is the German style touringcar series, racing at various German tracks and some tracks outside Germany, including Zandvoort. The cars raced there are Mercedes and Audi, although in earlier years Opel also raced there and before also BMW and Alfa Romeo for instance.

The idea is to create a painted carset, a main.dat, cockpits, possibly sounds, tracks (?) etc to create a whole touringcar/DTM style ICR2 game, similarly to what was done for the Sprintcar patch and what Tjerk has done for IIRS in recent times for GTP, USAC and Sprint car style layouts.

What did I do so far? Not much, I have started on building a few templates (Audi, Mercedes, Opel)

Carset: For the carset I have decided to work on four templates, for Mercedes, Audi, Opel and BMW. (My) Rules being it that the car maker should be German. Then I have looked at the current setup with the driver involved. As always, a lot of teams changed, sponsors changed
and drivers line-up changed. With only 20 cars, it makes it also hard to create a complete carset, so I was thinking of going realism and then some (which probably means I am gonna make a 2006/2007 mix carset Wink2).

We did this at The US Pits years ago for the N3 game. I remember doing a bunch of tracks for it. Don't see why we can't do it for the ICR2 game now.

At the moment I am working on a few tracks that would fit the DTM bill as either DTM race(d) there or it could be a venue.

What about Brands Hatch, Zeltveg or Norisring ? Will you use the ones already available here ?

Exactly the reason I didn't add them to the to-do list. Norisring and Brands Hatch are of course part of the mod, the A1 ring is question mark, but could be added just as easy.

Brno is really top notch. When I tested it for the first version I promptly deleted Oschersleben and Nurburgring F1 because I feared I deleted too much good information. Today I downloaded the necessary information to complete the track layout for Sachsenring, Hockenheim (both), Oschersleben, Nurburgring, Zandvoort and Lausitz. I will upload some beta version (sans objects and AI) later this week.

Zhuhai will be hard. Brno I need to check, but I think there is a chance I could have AI for that one soon.

AI is in the works. Because I redid some wall and runoff area I will have to redo the easier lp files. Others can be converted from the GPL track (but might need tweaking)
