Thanks for the website

Just a general "thank you" for whoever is responsible for providing and maintaining this resource.

I am an original sim racer, having cut my teeth on Papyrus' first effort, the Indianapolis 500 for PC (and then Amiga).
Every Papyrus product has seen time on my succession of PCs, with one of them, GPL, having a permanent home.

I recently re-discovered the pleasures of NASCAR Legends and NASCAR Racing 3 and when I took them out of the cupboard to reinstall I also noticed ICR2 in there (as is ICR 1 and Indy 500, but I won't install those).

So now ICR2 is going back onto the HDD and I once again thank you for this website.

welcome to the forum, bruce Smiley

have a look around, lots of good stuff for ya. help for getting icr2 running on newer OS, upgraded cars, tracks - lots of stuff. any trouble finding something, or download links don't seem to work (some do degrade, over time) just ask - somebody will probably have what you need.

the honcho around here is a guy named tjerk. he's not really a jerk - that's just one of those weird dutch spellings. it's actually pronounced like "floyd". Wink2

Thank you, Mr. Bob.
Already I have a problem in that my ICR2 is the DOS version and although it installs and runs okay I can't get it to see my joystick nor can I get it to see any soundcard.

I'm running it on a laptop with on-board sound and Win XP OS.

Any clues as to what I should now do?

Regards,
Bruce

Actually, on most parts of this site it is pronounced as "Wolf_PD" Wink2

And hello Bruce! Someone else will undoubtedly get you up and running with your joystick. It will probably involve DOSbox or VDMS but alas I am no expert on that :[

Thanks, Pavel.
I have downloaded the startup files and it boots the game nicely, but it still doesn't see my joystick or soundcard.

I'll have a look at that thread you've posted.

In the meantime I've just bought the Windows version of the sim when it was released as "CART Racing".
When it arrives (from the USA) hopefully it will install without any fuss. Smiley

Oh...that's a bit of a bummer!
I'll have to drag out an older laptop that has Windows 98 on it! Smiley

No.....I'll have to find it.

Incidentally, I'm getting a "404" on that URL link you provided.
