is this program good for xp or vista or win 7 ?? I understand it has many good qualities about it. But there seems to be quite a few error msg's with it using anything other than xp. Are there going to be any updates to it in the future?

it was written in VisualBasic 5 on a win98 system, so is for sure 95/98/NT4/2k compatible. it's not supported under XP/Vista/7 - and as i have no personal experience with windows beyond 2k, i can't even offer a clue - though others here may be able to offer suggestions. it's a 32bit program, and 64bit environments may well look down their noses on it. i would love to do more development on it, and have some ideas planned, but several factors keep that from happening right now. computer and financial issues. probably the best thing at this point would be learning C++ (which i have, but haven't installed) and converting the program, which should let it be compiled for whatever OS.

or offering it to anyone else who might want to take over development. maybe i'll post a thread offering it.

You should consider releasing it under a GPL or equivalent license. I could take a stab at converting it to C++ using my tool of choice Ultimate++. You will need to forgive the person who picked the domain name ultimatepp.org, rest assured that you will not find 'watersports' there!

U++ has a BSD license, which is about as close to unrestricted use as you're going to get.
